Chicago Humanities Festival

Tonika Johnson has participated in Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) as a presenter for the past three years. In November 2018, she hosted an interactive conversation about her "Folded Map," project with architectural and urban designer Paola Aguirre. Most recently, on May 14, 2020, as part of CHF’s Neighborhood Check-In series during the COVID-19 pandemic, CHF hosted a conversation with Tonika and her fellow Resident Assc. Of Greater Englewood (R.A.G.E.) co-founder, Aysha Butler about how this crisis has affected the health, economy, and social ties of their community as well as their personal experiences living and working in Englewood during the pandemic plus their hopes for community healing after this crisis.
